Last month, I took part in a volunteer activity at a local animal shelter. When I arrived, I first helped the workers clean the animals' dirty cages and prepare fresh food for them. Then I spent half an hour walking the shy dogs in the quiet yard and playing with the lonely cats. Some of these animals were once homeless and scared, but they slowly wagged their tails and got close to me as we stayed together. This experience taught me that small, kind efforts can truly warm others. I felt proud to see the animals become lively and happy because of me.
