A school project about space and energy
Last week, our class did a project about space and energy. We were divided into two groups. Group 1 talked about space. Group 2 talked about energy on Earth. We learned many interesting things.
First, Group 1 talked about the solar system. The Sun is a star. It's very big and hot. There isn't any life on it. But it gives us light and keeps us warm. The planets go around the Sun. From outer space, Earth looks like a blue marble. It spins, so we have day and night. The Moon travels around Earth. It is our closest neighbour in space. We also learned that astronauts study space, stars and planets on a space station. They use a spaceship to fly into space. Some astronauts live for months in space.
After that, Group 2 talked about energy on Earth. We use different kinds of green energy, like wind power, solar power and water power. They are clean and good for Mother Earth. We also learned how to save energy. For example, we can take a quick shower to save water and energy. We should also always unplug our computers and TVs when we are not using them. Our teacher smiled and said, "Small changes can make a big difference. Let's follow the '3R'
rules: reduce, reuse and recycle."
I felt proud to help protect our planet and explore space wisely.
