Mr Barry sells me to Mr Jerry Barker, a cab driver. He has another horse called Captain.
Jerry cares about his horses. He keeps our stable clean and gives us lots of good food. He is also a good driver. He never whips us. He does not like the lazy people who are late for work because those people always want him to drive fast.
One day, two young men run up to Jerry. "We have to catch a train!" one of them shouts. "Take us to the station as fast as you can. We'll pay you extra(额外)!"
"I'm sorry," Jerry says. "I won't make my horses work too hard. Keep your extra money."
Jerry does not care about extra money. The other cab drivers laugh at him.
We need a day to rest, so Jerry doesn't work on Sundays. However, on one Sunday, our neighbour, Dinah Brown, comes to us worriedly.
"My mother is very sick. She is going to die," she tells Jerry, "please take me to her."
Jerry does not want us to work on a Sunday, but he wants to help Dinah.
"I don't want to use my cab," he says. "It's too heavy for the horses to pull every day. I'll borrow a small cart."
Jerry does work on that day. He borrows a small cart, and we go to Dinah's mother's house on a farm. We wait at the farm for a few hours. Jerry lets us wait in the field. We are very happy there.
