D
I have heard of many wars which have started for the funniest reasons, but can you imagine two countries fighting because of boiled eggs?
Lilliputians thought Blefuscu was preparing a new attack very soon and they had more ships than we had here on Lilliput. I was worried too. I was also sorry for the emperor and his people because they always treated me well. So I decided to go to the emperor and offer him my services.
“To thank you for your kindness, Emperor, I am ready to put my life in danger to protect Lilliput and all the Lilliputians. I will fight the Blefuscans for you!”
The emperor thanked me for my offer and understood that with my “great” help, Lilliput had a good chance of winning the war. So we immediately began to prepare a plan of action.
The island of Blefuscu is blocked off from Lilliput by a narrow channel of water. I planned to swim across and catch the Blefuscan fleet before they attacked Lilliput. I knew that the Blefuscans did not know anything about me. So I had the great advantage of surprise. When they saw me coming across the water for the first time, you can imagine their fear.
I swam across the channel with some ropes. When the enemy saw the Man Mountain they all screamed and jumped off their ships into the sea. And so, as planned, I caught the Blefuscan fleet of ships. I tied their ships to my ropes and pulled the ships back to Lilliput.
I arrived back on Lilliput pulling the enemy’s ships behind me. My plan was a success! I immediately became a national hero and the emperor gave me the highest honour in the country: I became a “nardac” (which in the Lilliputian language means a very important person).
