In order to win, callers had to call at a certain time whenever they played a certain song. Mike always tried to win a ticket to go to a concert but he never called at the right time. Although he didn't win, one morning,his luck was about to change.
The radio station was giving away free concert tickets to the show of Mike's favorite rock group. All Mike had to do to win the ticket was to be the third caller when the radio station played a certain song by the rock group. Mike had heard the announcement(声明) that morning on his way to work,and had his cell phone ready to make the call when the right song played.
Mike listened carefully to the radio, waiting for the song to play. Suddenly,as he was waiting for a red light,the song started to play over the radio. He knew he had to be the third caller so he didn't call the station right away. After thirty seconds he made the call and hoped to be the winner.
"Congratulations! You have won a free concert ticket to the show of the rock group this Friday night," a voice said to Mike over the phone. Mike could not believe that he had finally won. The concert ticket was sent to him by mail in a week. Mike was so excited when he opened the envelope(信封). He decided to surprise Maria that same day he received the ticket.
