Being a volunteer
Volunteering is becoming more and more popular among middle school students. It is a great way to make a difference to our society and help people in need. We can get meaningful experience and learn a lot from it.
Every weekend, I take part in volunteer activities with my classmates. Last week, we went to the old people's home. We cleaned rooms, washed clothes and read newspapers to the old people. They told us interesting stories about their life and we felt very happy.
Sometimes we volunteer in the community. We help water flowers, pick up rubbish and guide people to follow traffic rules. We also raise money for poor kids so that they can go back to school.
Many students think volunteering is a waste of time, but I don't think so. It teaches us how to care for others and be responsible. Even small actions can make a big difference. If everyone gives a helping hand, the world will become much warmer.
