His wife quickly called 119. Frank did not wait. He took off his coat, wet it with water, and ran into the burning house. The room was full of dark smoke, and he could hardly breathe.
Suddenly, he heard a child crying, "Help! Help! I'm here!"
"Don't move! I'm coming!" Frank shouted back.
He found the child in the corner, picked him up, and ran out. His face was black, but his eyes were bright with hope.
At the same time, neighbours came out with buckets of water. Together, they stopped the fire from spreading. Soon the firemen arrived and put out the fire. The child's mother hugged Frank tightly. "You saved my son!" she cried. Frank smiled, "I just did what anyone would do."
