Becky is a hard-working and clever girl. She has a happy family. Her parents give her a violin as a present on her birthday. She wants to play it at the school talent show next week. Her brother Kevin laughs. "You just started learning to play! You can only play a few notes (音符)," Kevin says.
Becky learned to play the violin from her grandma three months ago. Her grandma is a great violin player. She is very talented. She is good at playing different kinds of music on the violin, from classical to pop.
Becky wants to play the violin as well as her grandma. So she works hard at playing the violin every day. On the show day, Becky feels a little bit nervous on the stage. Then she remembers Grandma's words, "Just try your best. You can play it very well." Then she feels much better. She plays the music that she has been practising(一直练习).
After she finishes playing, everyone stands up and claps. Kevin says, "What a great performance, Becky! Congratulations!" "I'm so excited that you all like my performance. My hard work paid off," Becky says.
