There lives an old man in a small town. He is blind, so he can't see anything at all. But he always carries a lamp with him when he goes out at night.
One night, after having dinner outside, he meets a group of young men on his way back home. When they see the blind man carrying a lighted lamp in his hand, they start laughing and making fun of him.
"Hey, old man, why do you carry a lamp if you can't see anything?" the shortest young man asks.
The blind man stops and turns towards the sound, saying, "Glad to meet you, my friends! I may not see, but this lamp isn't for me. It is for people like you. It helps you see me clearly, so you don't accidentally run into me."
The young men's faces soon turn red. Now, they all feel very bad for just making fun of the old man.
