Lions are big cats. Like tigers，they are one of the biggest cats. The male(雄性的) lion has a large mane around its neck.
Lions run very fast. They can catch small animals because they are good at running. Lions can run at a speed of more than 60 km per hour.
Lions live in parts of Africa and southern Asia. They can live in the wild for up to 14 years. Lions don’t live alone. Lions live together in a group called a pride. A pride has male lions，female(雌性的) lions and a few baby lions.
Lions can be called the “head of the jungle” because they are at the top of the food chain(食物链). They eat meat. They don’t eat plants.
