2026年亮点给力大试卷六年级英语下册译林版第136页答案
(E)(2025·南通如皋市期末)
When I was little, my mum sometimes came home from work, looking tired, stressed(有压力的)or worried. Maybe she had a hard day, or she heard sad news about a friend or a family member. Sometimes, something upsetting(令人心烦的)happened on the TV news.
When things felt hard or sad like that, she would say the same simple phrase(习惯用语), “This too shall pass." It was her way of reminding everyone(and herself) that even the worst (最糟的)times can always pass. Sometimes, when you're right in the middle of feeling bad, it seems like it will never end. But Mum told us to stay strong and positive, and ask for help. Things always would get better.
For many years, I forgot about the simple phrase that Mum said. Near the end of 2022, I got really sick-I caught a very bad cold. I had to be in hospital for a few days. Lying in that hospital bed, feeling weak and worried, I found it hard to feel happy or hopeful about anything.
Then, I remembered the simple phrase that Mum said when I was young, "This too shall pass." I began telling it to myself, just like Mum did. It helped me feel a little braver. Day by day, I got stronger and more positive.
Now, whenever I feel sad, stressed or worried, I say Mum's words to myself, "This too shall pass." It helps me remember that better times are coming, even if I can't see them yet. Next time you're having a really bad day, you might want to try saying it too. If it helped me and my mum, maybe it can help you feel a little better as well!
