2026年课堂作业武汉出版社八年级英语下册人教版第152页答案
B
Three years ago, a photo of a dead green sea turtle caught in fishing nets spread among business owners on Little Liuqiu, an island off China's coast. That image started a movement: a group of local people formed the Marine Volunteer Team, promising to save their hurt ocean. To avoid conflicts(冲突) about interests, they took nicknames like "Angelfish" and "Clownfish", working without sharing their real names to save their home.
Every Wednesday morning, when most fishermen go out to catch fish, the volunteers meet at the pier(码头) with dive gear and trash bags. "People used to laugh at us," says Hong Guilian, called "Angelfish" and takes photos underwater to record their work. "They'd say, 'Can garbage feed you?' But we know: no clean sea means no tourists, no way to make a living." Their regular work is tiring: diving 5 - 10 metres deep to cut old nets off coral reefs(珊瑚礁), digging plastic bottles out of sand, and sorting trash into piles that can be recycled. Once, they spent two hours freeing a group of corals covered by a thrown - away fishing net — watching it "breathe again" made their tiredness go away, Hong says.
After more than 100 clean - up trips, the good they've done is clear: 11 tons of trash taken away, enough to make a small mountain. Now tourists join their weekly clean - ups after hearing about their work online, and local guesthouses give discounts to volunteers. The team has grown from 12 original members to 60, and many of them are young people who left cities to "come back home like salmon".
Last month, during a normal clean - up, "Clownfish" saw a young green sea turtle gliding near a reef — something none of them had seen in years. It swam past their cameras, unharmed, over coral that now shines with colour. "That's why we keep going," Hong says, wiping saltwater from her face. "Not for praise, but for moments like this — proof the ocean can get better, if we help."
