Never Give Up
My favorite teacher's story always encourages me. He was born in a poor moun-
tain village. His family was so poor that they couldn't afford to send him to school.
He had to help his parents work in the fields when he was a child. But he never
gave up his dream of studying.
He borrowed books from his friends and taught himself every night after work.
He spent three years finishing middle school courses. When he was 18, he took the
exam to enter high school. Although he failed twice, he didn't lose heart. He kept
studying harder and finally passed the exam on the third try.
After high school, he worked during the day and studied at night. Through
years of effort, he entered his dream college. He studied education there and
became a teacher after graduating. He often tells us, "Stick to your dream and
never give up. Through hard work, you can achieve anything."
From his story, I learn that persistence(坚持不懈) is the key to success.
Whenever I meet difficulties in learning, I think of his story and keep going.
