The 55th World Earth Day took place on April 22，2024. That year's theme was "Planet vs. Plastics". So，I decided to try something different—a whole day without using any plastic. It sounded exciting，but it was quite hard.

The world produces 400 million tonnes of plastic each year，but only 10 per cent of the plastic has been recycled.
To make a difference，China stopped the production，sale and use of plastic shopping bags with the thickness of less than 0.025 mm in 2008. From 2010 to 2020，China recycled about 170 million tons of waste plastic. These have helped reduce plastic waste.
