The first World Humanoid Robot Games took place from August 14 to 17, 2025 in Beijing. There were 280 teams from 16 countries. They took part in 26 events. These games tested how well robots could "feel" "think" and move. One exciting part was the 5-on-5 soccer games. Robots from 14 countries played all by themselves for the first time. The humanoid robots are making a big difference to our world. The following is some information to help you to know them better.
What can humanoid robots do?
Humanoid robots are already doing many everyday jobs, like saying hello to people in restaurants. In one game, robots had to sort medicines. One robot, called Galbot, won first place. It is helping to find people the right medicines in a smart pharmacy in Beijing. By the end of 2025, 100 pharmacies across China will use this kind of robot.
Is it easy to make humanoid robots?
No, it isn't. Standing up and running are easy for us, but very hard for robots. They need actuators and effectors to do the things. Actuators make robots move. Effectors, like arms and legs, help robots handle the environment. Short battery life and overheating(过热)are also problems.
Why do people make robots looking like humans?
We can make robots in different shapes. However, most things around us, like doors and stairs, are made for our size and shape. If the robot looks like us, it can use these things like we do. This way, we don't need to make big changes to everything. That can save lots of money and time.

D
根据第一段中的“They took part in 26 events.”
根据第二段中的“In one game, robots had to sort medicines. One robot, called Galbot, won first place.”
根据最后一段中的“However, most things around us, like doors and stairs, are made for our size and shape. If the robot looks like us, it can use these things like we do.”
