六、传统文化任务型阅读。(2025·江苏无锡·调研)
阅读短文,回答下列问题。
The traditional Chinese solar calendar divides the year into twenty-four solar terms. Minor Snow, the 20th solar term of the year, begins on 22 November in 2026. Here are several things you should know about the Minor Snow.
Wearing hats and scarves
In China, starting in the Minor Snow, the wind blows from the north-east a lot. Many people do not wear hats or scarves yet. In fact, according to an old Chinese saying, “The head is the place where all passages of the body gather.” It’s necessary to wear hats and scarves to keep one’s head warm.
Drinking soup
During the Minor Snow, the air indoors is dry and most people might find their nose and mouth feel a bit dry. This will cause “inner heat” in one’s body. The key is to drink more hot soup.
Eating rice cakes
In some areas of South China, people eat rice cakes around the Minor Snow. In ancient times, rice cakes were a traditional festival offering to the gods of the earth.
Making pickled(腌制的) vegetables and pork
After the Minor Snow, because of low temperatures and dry air, it is the best time to start making preserved pork, which would be ready to be enjoyed by the start of the Spring Festival. The people in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, welcome the Minor Snow with making pickled vegetables every year.
In addition, people like to eat hot and spicy(辛辣的) food to keep warm. However, it’s not good to eat much. This is because that will increase inner heat. This year’s Minor Snow is coming. Wish you to be surrounded by a life full of warmth.
