B
Mr. Li works as a doctor in a hospital. He is a good doctor and has much experience of treating patients. He loves his job, but sometimes some patients bring him headaches (头疼).
One day, an old man came to see a doctor. “What’s wrong?” Mr. Li asked. “My left leg hurts every day,” he told Mr. Li.
Mr. Li asked him to lie on the bed and looked over his leg, but he couldn’t find anything wrong. Therefore (因此), he gave the old man some medicine and said, “I’m sorry. I think your left leg is all right. The pain in your leg is simply because of your old age. I hope this medicine can make you feel better.”
The old man was angry to hear that. “That can’t be true,” he shouted. “It can not be the old age that leads to my leg pain.”
Mr. Li said, “I’m a doctor. What I said is true.”
“Oh, no. I’m not a doctor, but I know you’re wrong,” the old man answered. “Because my right leg is fine. They’re the same age.”
