During the summer holiday, I travelled to Wanning in Hainan Province, which is known as a good place for surfers. I had been looking forward to this trip for a long time because learning to surf had always been my dream.
On the first day, the coach taught me some basic skills. First, push the surfboard into the waves. Then lie down on the surfboard and wait for the waves to come. Finally, when the waves come, let the surfboard "catch" the waves and try to stand on it.
After practising several times on the beach, I confidently followed the coach to the sea. However, I could not follow the coach's instructions to stand up at the right time because I was nervous. I fell into the sea and ended up swallowing a lot of sea water. The coach pointed out my mistake carefully.
After falling into the sea many times, I finally learnt how to stand on the surfboard. When I successfully stood up for the first time with the rushing waves, a huge sense of achievement filled my heart.
Over the next several days, I continued practising. My surfing got better and better. When I was able to surf alone in the sea, I felt a mixture of excitement and happiness.
This experience made me feel very fulfilled.
