三、阅读表达
阅读短文,回答下面 5 个问题。(每题答案不超过 10 个词)

I was a new teacher. When Simon's mother entered the room, my hands were sweating (出汗). I was not prepared for her kisses on both my cheeks. "I come to thank you, Miss Brown," she said, surprising me beyond words. Because of me, Simon became a different person. He talked of how he loved me. He began to make friends, and for the first time in his twelve years, he recently spent an afternoon at a friend's house. Simon's mother wanted to tell me how thankful she was for the self-respect I had developed in her son. She kissed me again and left.
I sat quietly, wondering what had just happened. How did I make such a life-changing difference to the boy without even knowing it? Finally, I remembered. One day, several months ago, when some students were giving reports in front of the class, Jeanne spoke quietly. To encourage her to raise her voice, I said, "Speak louder! Simon is the expert (专家) on this. He is the only one you have to convince (说服), and he can't hear you." That was it. From that day on, Simon sat up straighter, paid more attention, smiled more and became happier. And that was all because he happened to be the last kid in the last row. The boy who needed praise most was the one who took the last seat that day.
I believe it's the most valuable experience over the years of my teaching career.
