C
"The road to Shu is difficult, even more difficult than climbing to the blue sky," as Li Bai's poem goes. For over two thousand years, the ancient road system has been a treasure of Chinese culture. But for American scholar Hope Justman, it is even more than that. She sees it as a living history book worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status.
She visited an exhibition in Boston when she was in college, where a painting drew her attention. Huge mountains, thick trees, and mountain streams made that painting look deep and amazing, with a certain feeling of mystery. Attracted by the mystery, Justman's journey with the Shu Road system began in 2001.
In 2007, Justman published Guide to Hiking China's Old Road to Shu in the US and created a website about the Shu Road system. In the book, she praises China for protecting the natural environment of the Shu Road system. At the same time, she describes her experiences of enjoying traditional buildings, cultural sites and local customs along the road.
Justman believed that her book would introduce Western readers to the existence of many original flagstone parts of this ancient road system and help them in finding and hiking them. "I hope my book will encourage more people to hike the ancient Shu Road and experience Chinese culture firsthand," she said. In October 2024, the Chinese version of her book was published.
Justman's love for the ancient road system never fades, and she is happy to see that China has worked hard to protect it. Big projects have been carried out to improve its condition. For example, broken stones have been fixed and benches have been added for hikers. But this raises an interesting question. Li Bai and Du Fu described in their poems how dangerous it could be to travel along the road. But if both great poets were alive today, would they be inspired to write any new poems? Justman says, "No."

But for American scholar Hope Justman, it is even more than that. She sees it as a living history book worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status."
In the book, she praises China for protecting the natural environment of the Shu Road system. At the same time, she describes ..."
I hope my book will encourage more people to hike the ancient Shu Road"可知,此处说的是希望能鼓励更多人徒步古老的蜀道,即亲自体验中国文化,由此可知firsthand意思是"亲自;亲身"。故选A。
She visited an exhibition in Boston when she was in college, where a painting drew her attention." Attracted by the mystery, Justman's journey with the Shu Road system began in 2001." In 2007, Justman published Guide to Hiking China's Old Road to Shu"可知,2007年出版书籍,d在第三;根据"In October 2024, the Chinese version of her book was published."
Big projects have been carried out to improve its condition ... Li Bai and Du Fu described in their poems how dangerous it could be to travel along the road. But if both great poets were alive today, would they be inspired to write any new poems? Justman says, 'No.'"

1. 做细节题时直接回文定位题干对应的原文表述,匹配选项即可排除错误项;
2. 段落大意题需要通读指定段落,提炼段落核心讲述的内容,排除段落未涉及的无关选项;
3. 词义猜测题要结合上下文语境,通过前后句的逻辑关联推断划线词的含义;
4. 事件排序题需要从原文中逐一找到每个事件对应的时间/发生顺序,按先后排列匹配选项;
She sees it as a living history book worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status"可知,在Justman眼中蜀道是活的历史记录。
