六、任务型阅读。(2026·江苏淮安·期中)
Zhang Rong was born into a family of sculptors(雕塑家) in 1983. He showed an interest in traditional Chinese art when he was a child. He learned how to make small sculptures(雕像) from his grandfather.
“My father made sculptures for different temples(庙宇) in the city,” he said. “From the age of 6, I would sometimes follow him when he went to work.”
Pingyao’s temples are famous for their painted sculptures and art. Among them, Shuanglin Temple(双林寺) is known as “oriental museum of painted sculptures” as it keeps over 2,000 colourful sculptures, the largest collection in Shanxi.
“When I grew up, I could help my father make small parts of the sculptures. At the time, I dreamed of learning my family’s skills. However, my parents said that it was best for me to enter college and then find a good job,” he said. “I listened to them.”
In 2002, Zhang went to college to study computing and became a computer programmer after finishing college in 2005.
“But I still wanted to become a sculptor and make wonderful clay sculptures like my father,” he said. “To make my life interesting, I began to make clay sculptures in my free time. And then I quit my job. Now I have made clay sculptures for many different people. As an inheritor(后继者) of Pingyao clay sculptures, I hope to tell more people about the art. It will be my lifelong mission(任务).”
