Space is the biggest and most mysterious place beyond our Earth. For thousands of years, humans have dreamed of exploring the unknown universe. We keep exploring space for important reasons.
First, space exploration helps us learn more about the universe and our own planet. It lets us know how stars, planets and the solar system work.
Second, exploring space pushes the development of modern technology. Many new inventions and technologies are created for space missions, and they finally serve our daily life.
Third, space exploration gives humans hope for the future. It allows us to look for new living resources and possible new homes for mankind one day.
However, space is extremely wide and endless. So far, humans have achieved great progress. We have sent rockets and satellites into space, landed on the moon and sent unmanned probes to distant planets. But compared with the whole universe, our steps are still small. The nearest star outside the solar system is 4.2 light years away, which is far beyond our current reach.
We still have a long way to go. With continuous technological progress, humans will surely go further into space and unlock more secrets of the universe.
