My name is Teng Fei, and I've been a volunteer at the nursing home since last year. It has been a very rewarding experience. I exercise with the elderly to help them stay active, and I've taught some of them how to use a mobile phone. I believe it's very important to care for the elderly because we'll all be old one day too.
My passion for volunteering also comes from a personal story. In 2008, I was in a dangerous situation and got lost. Working with Blue Sky Rescue is not easy. It's voluntary, so we aren't paid. We often go without food or sleep during rescue missions. However, the work is incredibly meaningful. To the people we've saved and their loved ones, I know we're their heroes. We want to do even more, but we can't do it all alone. We need more people to join us as volunteers.
