Ⅱ. 阅读短文,根据短文内容按要求完成下列任务。
Archaeologists have found an ancient grave(墓穴) in a cave in Hainan Province. It is the oldest burial(墓葬) site ever discovered on the island. The grave was found at the Luobidong site in Sanya and is about 12,000 to 13,000 years old.
Li Feng, an expert from Peking University who leads the dig, said this is the clearest example of a very old burial in southern China. Early studies show the remains belong to a child.
The Luobidong site was first found in 1983. The skeleton(骨架) was lying on its side with bent(弯曲的) legs and was in quite good condition. Many small decorations(装饰品) made from snail shells(蜗牛壳) were found near the head and waist(腰部). Some simple stone tools were also discovered nearby.
This find was shared at a meeting in Sanya on Sunday. The site was dug up before in 1992 and 1993, when scientists found old human bones, tools, and animal fossils(化石). With official permission, new digging started in 2025. The work is done together by the Hainan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Peking University, and the Sanya Museum.
Experts say the shell decorations are the oldest ones ever found in China. This discovery helps us learn about early life on the island and its connections with Southeast Asia long ago.
The research team will keep studying the site using different scientific methods. Their work will also help build the Luobidong National Archaeological Site Park in the future.
