Do you want to travel to other countries? Do you know how the people there usually show visitors the way? Let's learn something about this.
In some places in America, there are no villages or streets for miles (英里). When they show you the way, they can say, “Go straight two miles, turn north and then go another mile.” But in California, it's different. They use time, not miles. When you ask, “How far is it to the hospital?” They answer, “It's about fifteen minutes from here.” You say, “Yes. How many miles?” They don't know!
In Japan, people don't use street names or road names. They use landmarks to show the way. For example, when you ask the way to a museum, they can say, “Go down this street. Turn right at the hospital and you can see a supermarket. The museum is beside the supermarket.”
People in Greece (希腊) are very helpful. When you ask them the way, they will often say, “Follow me.” Then they will take you there.

1. A 2. C 3. B 4. D 5. B
0.7
