Tom loved reading books and surfing the internet. Every day after school,he would go back home,finish his homework quickly,and then spend much time in front of his computer screen. As time went by,Tom found he had problems seeing the blackboard clearly. He had to squint(眯着眼睛看) so that he could see the words on it,and his eyes often felt tired.
One day, Tom's teacher found his problem and advised him to visit an eye doctor. Tom followed his advice and went to see Dr Smith,an experienced eye doctor. Dr Smith told Tom that he had pseudomyopia(假性近视).
Dr Smith said that Tom's long hours on the computer and not playing outside often caused his eye problem. She told Tom the importance of taking breaks often when using the computer and asked him to spend more time playing outside.
After hearing the doctor's words, Tom made a decision to make some changes. He set a timer(定时器) to help himself remember to take breaks when studying or using the computer for a long time. He also started going for walks and playing sports with his friends after school. After weeks,Tom got healthier and his eyes felt less tired.
It's important for us to balance indoor and outdoor activities. By making small changes to our habits,we can protect our eyes and enjoy our favourite activities at the same time.
