热考素材 时事热点 A new pink rose called "Jiaolong" has left Kunming, Yunnan Province for Zhaosu County, Xinjiang. It is a gift to remember He Jiaolong. She was a local officer who died at work in January. It also stands for the close feelings between Yunnan and Xinjiang.

The rose was created by the Flower Research Institute of Yunnan. It was sent to Zhaosu after a public naming activity. Many Chinese netizens took part in this activity. They wanted to use a special flower to show their respect for her.
He Jiaolong was 47 years old. She died on Jan. 14 when she fell from a horse. At that time, she was making videos for an online business program. The program helped sell local farm products. Since 2020, she had helped hundreds of local businesses.
The name "Jiaolong" was made official on Jan. 23. It was decided by online voting(投票) and expert discussions. Cai Yanfei, a researcher at the institute, said the rose has soft pink flowers and strong petals. They are just like He's personality.
"Although the flower looks gentle, it is not weak. It is strong and firm. This is just like He's strong spirit and determination," Cai said. "People often say flowers are like the people they are named after. We hope that whenever people see this rose, they will think of Jiaolong."
After the name was announced, many people left messages online. Netizens across the country shared messages to remember He and encourage each other. Local media said this was a warm way to remember He. It makes the love between different places become deeper.
The institute had developed the "Jiaolong" rose for over two and a half years. After more planting work, the rose will probably be sold in the market around October.
