Ten - year - old Chen Tengxu and his classmates laughed excitedly as nine mythical (神话的) animals from Chinese stories appeared on a big screen. The children reached out to “catch” the creatures, which seemed to run towards them from snowy mountains, deserts and oceans.
This fun game was shown at the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing from 12 - 16 September. The event's theme was “Global Services, Shared Prosperity”.
The animal game used smart technology to teach the kids about the guardian beasts (兽) on the roofs of the Palace Museum. After playing, the screen showed a special digital picture including the beasts and the children themselves, based on the colours of their clothes.
“I had so much fun and learnt about Chinese buildings and legends,” said Chen. “I'll keep this special photo forever!”
Technology is changing tourism and culture, so the government wants tourist places to use it more. “Digital culture and tourism is a growing trend,” said an expert. “As more foreign visitors come to China, technology can make their trips easier and more interesting.”
