An important event that I remember well was that

I participated in an English speech contest at my school last spring. It happened in the school hall on a sunny morning in April last year. I was standing on the stage, feeling very nervous because it was my first time giving a speech in front of so many people. When I started speaking, I suddenly forgot my lines. I felt my face turn red and my hands shake. Just then, I saw my best friend Lily in the audience. She smiled at me and gave me a thumbs-up. That encouraged me a lot. I took a deep breath and tried to remember the words. Finally, I finished the speech successfully. I remember it well because it taught me that even when we face difficulties, we should never give up. Also, the support from friends can give us great strength.
