2026年学习之友八年级英语下册人教版第81页答案
D
When Personal Habits Meet Public Spaces
Recently,a video of someone washing feet in the Thames River(泰晤士河)caused hot discussion in London. This event shows the conflict(冲突)between personal habits and public manners.
People have different opinions about this. Some think washing feet in a river is a normal personal habit. Others believe public spaces should be kept clean for everyone. Similar conflicts happen when people eat on subways or take photos in museums.
So how should we do in unfamiliar cultures? First, observe(观察)how local people act in public spaces. If nobody else is doing something, you probably shouldn’t,either. Second, think about how your actions might affect others. Something harmless in your culture might be rude in another.
When personal habits conflict with local rules,we should respect the local culture. This doesn’t mean giving up our traditions, but being considerate in public spaces. We can keep our habits in private while following public rules.
Understanding cultural differences helps us become better global citizens. By being thoughtful and respectful,we can enjoy our cultural traditions while getting along well with people from all over the world.
