How Teens Solve Troubles
Every teenager meets difficulties in daily life, from study trouble to family arguments(争吵). Different teens choose different ways to work out problems.
Lily, a Grade 9 student from London, always talks with her mum first when she has trouble. "Parents have more life experience. Their advice often works well," she says. Her classmate Tom prefers solving problems by himself first. He looks up useful information online or tries to find solutions from books, and asks for help only after several failed tries.
A group of students choose outdoor relaxation first. When they feel stuck in trouble, they go hiking or cycle in the countryside to clear their minds. After relaxing, they can think about problems more wisely.
Psychologists(心理学家) say there is no perfect way to fix all troubles, but avoiding problems and doing nothing is always the worst choice for teens.
根据短文内容,选用方框内所给词的适当形式填空。

.
2. Tom
trying to fix problems alone at first.
3. Some teens
outdoors to get clear thoughts.

答案

1. experience
2. prefers
3. relax
4. avoid

解析

1. 根据原文第二段Lily的表述"Parents have more life experience.",此处表示“丰富的生活经验”,experience作“经验”讲时为不可数名词,直接填入原形即可。
2. 根据原文第二段"Her classmate Tom prefers solving problems by himself first.",主语Tom是第三人称单数,句子为一般现在时,谓语动词prefer要变为第三人称单数形式prefers,符合搭配prefer doing sth.(更喜欢做某事)。
3. 根据第三段内容,部分青少年会选择在户外放松来理清思绪,句子主语Some teens是复数,时态为一般现在时,谓语动词用原形relax。
4. 根据最后一段"avoiding problems and doing nothing is always the worst choice for teens",此处是祈使句,表示“永远不要逃避你的问题”,never后接动词原形avoid。
