解析

【分析】首先明确方框内词语:take in(吸收)、nature(自然)、be likely to(可能)、shoulder(肩膀)、muscle(肌肉)、oxygen(氧气);再结合每个句子的结构、语境及语法规则,选择合适的词语并调整形式:1. It is + adj + to do需用nature的形容词形式;2. a后接单数名词,结合语境选shoulder;3. 主语it的be likely to需用is形式;5. release后接名词,选oxygen;6.
固定句型It is + 形容词 + to do sth要求用形容词,故将名词nature变为形容词natural;2. 主语it为第三人称单数,be likely to需根据主谓一致变为is likely to,符合“今天多云,所以可能下雨”的语境;5.

Death is a part of life and it's natural to grieve when an animal you love dies. Grieving—the feeling reaction to death—is an important part of the healing process(康复过程).
Deal with the loss of a pet
A pet is part of the family, so when they die, it can be very difficult and upset for everyone who loves them. It's a big change to get used to and it's natural to miss them. It can help to remember that your pet can no longer feel hungry, cold or pain.
It's OK to feel sad, angry, shocked or to feel hard to believe they're no longer alive. There's no right way to feel or to grieve. As people are all different, the length of time it takes for you to feel less sad may not be the same as for someone else. Dipti Solanki, who helps people with their grief, says, "Your feelings matter and are normal after you lose a pet. They can feel really big and difficult to control." It's OK if sometimes you smile or laugh and don't feel so sad. It doesn't mean you loved your pet any less.
Share to overcome your bad feelings
It's better to talk than keep your thoughts and feelings to yourself. Solanki says, "It's really important that you talk about feeling sad or afraid, because once you do, you will start to feel calmer and less alone. After you share your feelings, they become less serious and easier to deal with." Talking about your pet helps to keep their memory alive because you remember the time you spent together.
Celebrate your beloved pet
It can help to remember the funny things your pet did, what you loved about them and the happy time you shared. As well as talking about them, you can get creative. Print out photos of your pet and make them into a collage(拼贴画). You can also draw or paint a picture of them. Or write a story about something you did together or how they made you feel.

答案

1-4. ABBD

1. 词义猜测题:根据第一段“when an animal you love dies”及后文对grieving的解释“the feeling reaction to death”,可知grieve意为“因失去所爱之人而难过”,对应选项A。B(照顾宠物疲惫)、C(因住得远孤独)、D(离开不愉快的事开心)均不符合语境。
A(讲有趣故事)、C(提供更多事实)、D(对比不同例子)均不符合引用意图。
3. 细节理解题:A选项与第三段“the length of time it takes... may not be the same as for someone else”矛盾;C选项与第四段“It's better to talk than keep your thoughts...”矛盾;D选项与第二段“It's OK to feel sad...”矛盾;B选项对应第四段“once you do, you will start to feel calmer and less alone... easier to deal with”,符合作者观点,故正确。
4. 细节理解题:A选项文中未提及;B选项与第四段“it's better to talk”矛盾;C选项文中无相关表述;D选项对应第二段“your pet can no longer feel hungry, cold or pain”,是缓解悲伤的做法,故正确。
