(原创)When I was young, I acted in shows and musicals. But I have worked as a crew member back the stage(舞台) to hold the lighting, sound, or the whole stage. So I was excited when I was invited to do the stage for my school's show of Mamma Mia this year.
Being on the production team is very from being an actor. A stage manager(经理) needs good organizing skills. My daily work during a Mamma Mia rehearsal with taking attendance. While the actors warmed up on stage, I all the actors here and called anyone that wasn't. Later I was "on book". I also looking at the clock so that we could finish work on time. Nobody wants to go home an hour late the manager forgets to stop work of the day!
The time for a stage manager is "tech week". It's when music, lighting, and other sound effects are into the show. Not only do I still need to be "on book", but also I must give cues(提示) to the lighting, sound, backstage crew, and —all at once!
Although the audience cannot see me on the stage, the manager's role is just as important as the ones played on stage!
