Luis's Secret Fishing Plan
Luis looked forward to the Deer Lake Fishing Competition. Last year, he didn't get a prize
and felt a little sad. But this year, he had a secret plan and wanted to win.
On the competition day, the sun was bright. Many kids gathered by the lake with their
fishing poles, talking happily. The organizer stood up and said loudly, "Third prize is for the

silver fish and smile. Then Carlos fell into the water, and Emily dropped her fishing pole in the mud.
Luis didn't care about the noise. Suddenly, his fishing line moved! He pulled it up gently
but firmly. A big silver fish came out of the water. It was the biggest fish that day!
Luis took the fish to the organizer. The crowd cheered, and he got the first prize. His dad
ran over, happy and proud."What's your secret plan?" Dad asked."Did you use a lucky worm or
a special pole?" Luis said, "Fish are scared of loud noises. I waited for the noisy kids to drive
fish to my quiet spot. It worked!"
