Liu Di is a girl from Henan Province. And she is in her third year at a university in Zhengzhou, majoring in domestic service. It wasn't her first choice of subject to study at university. But it might help her have a better chance of getting a job after graduation.
Now, Liu Di has an internship in Guangzhou. Her family thought that she would be doing a difficult job as a housekeeper. And they were also afraid she would be looked down upon. Liu's school started the domestic service major in 2020. At this university, students are trained to do more high-end domestic service, like offering health advice and organising activities for the old. The first college students in this major will finish their education next year. And most of them will be put to the test in the job market.
The internships are of great help for their future job. During the internship, students can get from 4,000 yuan to 5,000 yuan each month. This depends on their work performance. And they can be paid about 8,000 yuan to 10,000 yuan for a future fixed job.
