While Dad filled his nut-shell bag with tea leaves, Arrietty smelled something sweet. She followed the smell to the garden door. Looking through the keyhole, she saw giant dandelions shining yellow in the moonlight. A spider's web hung nearby, with water drops bigger than her head.

“Hello?”

Days later, the cook found Tom's notes. “MICE!” she screamed, waving a poison(毒药）bag. “We'll kill them all!”
