The Ice Bucket Challenge was a popular activity around the world in 2014. It was a meaningful activity to help people with ALS, a terrible disease that makes people lose control of their bodies. Before 2014, there was little money for ALS research, so the challenge came out to change this situation.
The rules of the challenge are quite simple. People first pour a bucket of ice-cold water over their heads, then record the process and upload the video online. After that, they will ask three friends to take part in the challenge within 24 hours. If the friends refuse to do it, they have to donate money to the ALS charity to support the medical research. Many famous people like actors and sports stars join in the activity, and it soon spreads across the whole world.
