Art plays an important role in our life. Among all art forms, I like painting best. It helps me express my feelings and discover the beauty around me.
I started learning painting at the age of seven. At first, I struggled a lot. My lines were always uneven, and the colors I mixed were either too dark or too light. I even cried when my first landscape painting looked nothing like the real scene. However, my art teacher encouraged me, saying, "Be patient and observe carefully." She taught me to sketch the outline first and then add details. I practiced every weekend, copying famous paintings and drawing what I saw in parks. Gradually, my skills improved. Last year, I painted a picture of my grandmother's garden and won second prize in our school art show. Holding the certificate, I felt extremely happy and proud.
