A
In September 2023, the ground under our feet “shook” for more than a week, but we probably did not feel it at the time. Now, scientists have found that it was because of global warming
At the time, scientists around the world noticed a seismic wave (地震波). It came from the Earth’s crust (地壳). It is the outer layer of our planet, a bit like the skin of an apple. This wave lasted for nine days and went across the whole world. It was strange because most seismic waves usually last only minutes or hours.
To find out the reason, 68 scientists across 15 countries and regions worked together. They found that it all started with a landslide (山体滑坡) in a fjord (峡湾) in eastern Greenland on Sept 16, 2023. Because of global warming, a glacier (冰川) at the foot of the mountain in the fjord became too thin to hold up the rocks above. So, the 1,200-meter-high mountain peak fell apart. Rocks and ice that could fill 10,000 swimming pools fell into the fjord. This caused a big wave up to 110 meters high.
Luckily, nobody got hurt. The scientists believe more such events will happen in the future because the world is getting hotter and hotter.

答案
1. 代词指代题:根据第一段第一句“In September 2023, the ground under our feet ‘shook’ for more than a week, but we probably did not feel it at the time.”,句中“it”指代前文提到的“the shaking of the ground”,故选C。
2. 细节理解题:由文章内容可知,此次地壳震动源于全球变暖导致的格陵兰岛山体滑坡,且最后一段提到“the scientists believe more such events will happen in the future because the world is getting hotter and hotter”,说明全球变暖将持续给世界带来变化,故选D。
1. C;2. D;3. A
