Maybe volunteers are some of the most overlooked (被忽视的) people. But 1 activities would carry on smoothly (顺利地) without hard - working volunteers. This month, I volunteered at the Colour Run in Melbourne. I didn't have as much fun as the runners, but I still learned a 2 .
My job was to give a high - five to every runner at the finish line. In the beginning, we saw it as a(n) 3 job. They were really tired, but they still kept going with big smiles on their faces. They 8 their hands and said, “High - five!”
At that moment, I was quite moved — they were so young, 9 they never gave up (放弃). Suddenly, I felt myself full of energy. I clapped (轻拍) their hands, “Well done, little guys!”
That is the 10 of being a volunteer. It is never an easy job. However, we meet different people and see the spirit (精神) that moves us. Even if such spirit is not often found in daily life, it can encourage us a lot when we do see it.
