Wang Xizhi was a great calligrapher in China's Eastern Jin Dynasty，known as the “Saint of Calligraphy”. He had a special love for geese，which even helped him improve his calligraphy.
He often watched geese swim in ponds，enjoying their elegant neck movements and lively postures. Once，he saw beautiful white geese raised by a Taoist priest(道士)and wanted to buy them badly. The priest asked him to copy *Tao Te Ching*(《道德经》)in exchange for the geese. Wang happily agreed and finished writing the book，then took the geese home joyfully.
Watching geese taught him calligraphy secrets. He learned to move his wrist(手腕)like geese turning their necks，making his writing more natural and graceful. His hard work and unique inspiration made his works famous，such as *Preface to the Orchid Pavilion*(《兰亭集序》)，called the “best running script in the world”.
