Looking Back on This Past School Year
Another school year is coming to a close. It's time to reflect, think about what you've learned, finish all the following activities and you can note how you've grown and changed.
Start with a journal
Scientific studies show that making this a regular practice can help you become healthier and happier. Here are some questions to help you get started: What do you want to remember about this school year? What challenged you the most? What
successes are you proud of? In what ways have you grown? When you've finished, reread what you have written. What have you learned about yourself through this exercise?
Draw a more/less list
Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the center. On the left, write the word "More" at the top. On the right, write the word "Less". Now, ask yourself what you want more of in your life. If you want more jogging in your life, draw a sneaker in the "More" column. Do the same for the "Less" side. If you want less social media, maybe draw a phone.
Write a thank-you letter
Who would you like to thank for this school year? Think about what you would say to this person if you thought you would never see him or her again. Take a few minutes to write down everything that you are grateful to this person for. Just use the words that come straight from your heart. Then send your letter to that person.
These simple activities are more than just end-of-year tasks. They give you a chance to honor your efforts, and value the lessons and kindness you've received. As one chapter of school comes to an end, use these small tasks to pack up all your growth and gratitude, then step into the new school year with clearer goals and a warmer heart.
