B
Life in the city is busy and colorful. Lots of people like living in cities. Do you like living in a city? Do you know how cities come into being? Let's look at the interesting history.
In early times, humans lived in very small groups of just three or four people. They often moved from one place to another. They hunted animals and gathered wild plants for food. It was called the nomadic(游牧的)lifestyle.
No one knows exactly how or when humans learned to grow food. But when they did this, their life changed completely. They didn't have to move around to look for food any longer. They could stay in one place, plant crops, and wait for them to grow. Life became much easier and safer than before because they always had food nearby.
As farming techniques improved, people began to live together in large groups. This was how the first village appeared. With more and more people living together, these villages
slowly became larger. People built simple houses and stored food together. They started to make rules for living in groups.
The biggest change came when machines were invented. Life in villages changed a lot during the Industrial Revolution(工业革命). People built many factories to make goods. More and more people moved to live near these factories to find work. Soon, these places grew into cities.
Today, the life in cities is much more convenient than that in small villages. Cities have better schools, hospitals, and transportation. However, it's interesting that some people are still choosing to move back to small villages now. They want cleaner air, quieter life, and closer connection to nature.
From nomadic life to modern cities, human living places have changed greatly. But whether in cities or in villages, people always find ways to make their life better.
