Gulliver’s Travels is a famous novel by Jonathan Swift. The story of Gulliver in Lilliput is very interesting and popular around the world.
One day, Gulliver’s ship crashed against the rock. He had to swim in the sea for a long time. Finally, he reached the land and felt so tired that he lay down on the grass and fell asleep at once. When the sun rose, he woke up and found he could not move. His arms, legs and hair were tied to the ground tightly. He was very surprised and nervous.
Then he felt something small climbing up his leg. It was a tiny man. The man was so small that he was just the same size as Gulliver’s middle finger. Soon, more small men came and climbed all over Gulliver’s body. There were about forty of them. Gulliver shouted at them, and the loud noise made some of the small men fall over. But they soon stood up and kept moving.
Gulliver could not understand the small men’s language, and they could not understand him either. He tried to break free and managed to pull one hand out of the ropes. When he lifted his hand up, all the small men shouted loudly. He saw a huge army of tiny people coming straight towards him. He was afraid and wanted to run away, but he didn’t know how to get out of trouble.
This story tells us a wonderful and strange experience. It is full of fun and surprises. Many readers love this story because it is creative and exciting.
