二、阅读理解。
My name is Betty Sanders. I'm a telephone operator, and I work for a
company. My job is very interesting. I love it very much. I work five days a
week, and my hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. I do a lot of things — I place
long-distance calls for people, I answer questions, and I help people when
they are in trouble.
Today, for example, I had an interesting experience. At 11 o'clock this
morning, I got a call from a man. I didn't know who he was. He was in trouble
and I could tell that he was worried about something. He gave me an address
and asked me to send an ambulance right away. I asked him if somebody was
hurt but he didn't answer my question. He told me he needed a doctor at once,
so I said I'd call an ambulance for him but I still wanted to know what was
wrong. Then he said, "Our keys are gone!" I didn't understand that! Why
would he need an ambulance just because he couldn't find his keys? Then I
found out what the trouble was. The man and his wife left the car keys on a
coffee table, and later they couldn't find them. Their little boy Johnny was
playing in the room, and they thought he swallowed them. But before I
could help him, he told me he wouldn't need an ambulance anymore. His wife
found the keys in her bag. They were there all the time.

【解析】
1. 定位原文第一段内容“I'm a telephone operator, and I work for a company.”,可知Betty Sanders在一家公司工作,对应选项C。
2. 根据原文第一段“I work five days a week, and my hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.”,可算出她每天工作8小时,一周工作5天总时长为40小时,A选项正确;B选项工作结束时间错误,应为下午5点;C选项一周仅工作5天,并非到周六;D选项一周工作7天的描述完全不符合原文,因此选A。
3. 男子致电Betty的核心诉求是让她帮忙叫救护车,误以为儿子吞了钥匙需要急救,A选项丢钥匙只是误会的起因并非打电话的直接目的,B、C描述均不符合原文内容,因此选D。
4. 根据原文最后一段“His wife found the keys in her bag. They were there all the time.”,可知钥匙实际上一直放在男子妻子的包里,对应选项D。
5. 原文第一段直接提到“My job is very interesting. I love it very much.”,说明Betty Sanders很喜欢自己的工作,A选项正确;B选项对Betty的工作内容描述过于片面,她的工作还有答疑、帮助困境中的人等内容;C选项文中没有提到小男孩喜欢玩钥匙;D选项描述完全不符合文意,因此选A。
