答案

1. think
由句中的 over the years 可知,此处时态是现在完成时,又因主语 Pop and hip hop 是复数,故助动词用 have。

In a nest, set in a rice field, lived a mother bird and her two little chicks(雏鸟). Every
morning, the mother bird flew away to look for food. Before going, she always told the chicks, "Don't go out. Danger is everywhere. Stay inside. Listen to every little sound. It is time for harvest, so we must leave this place before humans come to harvest the crops."
That day, after the mother bird flew away, the farmer and his son came and they walked close to the nest. The farmer looked at the crops. Then he told his son, "It is time for harvest. We must get help from the villagers. We will ask them to help us." The son nodded. The chicks told their mother quickly. She replied coolly, "No need to worry." The chicks were hungry. They opened their beaks(鸟喙). The mother bird started feeding them. The next day, as usual, she warned the chicks and left. The farmer and the son walked through the crops again. They heard the farmer say, "The villagers are busy. They have no time to help us. We must get outside help." When the mother bird returned, the chicks told her what they had heard. But she said, "Don't worry. We still have time to move."
A few days later, the farmer and the son visited the field again. The farmer looked worried and said to his son, "If we don't harvest the crops quickly, we will lose them. Because we can't get help, tomorrow we must harvest the crops ourselves." "Okay," said the son.
When the mother bird went back home, the chicks told her what they had heard. The mother bird said, "This time the farmer is serious. He will harvest the crops tomorrow. I think you are strong enough to fly by yourselves. Follow me. We will go to our new home in the tall tree over there." "Are you sure?" the chicks asked. "Yes, because this time, the farmer and his son have decided to harvest the crops themselves. Always remember that self-help is the best help," said the mother bird, leading the chicks to their new home.

2. What did the farmer and his son decide to do in the end?
