Last Friday, Lucy sat by herself and felt upset because her best friend, Alice, didn't speak to her for two days. During the lunch break, Lucy decided to write a note to Alice: “I miss our chats. Did I do anything wrong? Let's talk after school.” She put it into Alice's pencil case.
When Alice found the note in her pencil case, she read it carefully and realized she had misunderstood Lucy. Alice's face turned red and tears filled her eyes. “I'm so sorry! I just... ” Her voice sounded a little bit strange. Lucy hugged her tightly. “Never! But next time, just ask me, okay?” Then they promised each other they would communicate openly next time. “Why didn't you tell me earlier?” Lucy asked. “I was afraid of losing you,” Alice said. The girls walked home together, their laughter mixing with rustling（沙沙作响的）leaves. From that day, they promised to share their feelings first. Now they both understand that open conversations can solve problems.
