(C)
Liu Xuan is totally a homebody. Every weekend, this 14-year-old student from Tsinghua High
School watches popular TV dramas like Love Between Fairy and Devil and plays with
her mobile phone. She hates playing outdoor sports. "It's too tiring," she said.
She is not alone. In recent years, more and more Chinese teenagers are becoming homebodies. A
survey of kids aged 2 to 14 showed about 60 percent of them spend less than one hour doing outdoor
activities every day.
This problem may have to do with heavy academic pressure. Hu Huilan, 12, from
Shenzhen Nanshan Language School, is busy with much homework and many after-school classes on
weekends. "I don't want to get behind," she said.
Even if this isn't a problem, kids still prefer indoor life. Wang Di, 12, from Anhui No. 50 Middle
School, often reads Harry Potter, listens to music and surfs the internet at home. "I can do so many things
I like at home rather than hanging out in bad weather," she said.
The situation for foreign students is quite different. Tina Smith, 15, from a high school in Toronto
Canada, says children of her age don't like staying indoors at all. "They spend their free time outdoors
even if it just means going to the park or reading a book under the tree. Nice weather, little homework and
rich outdoor activities allow us to do that," she said.

9. 第三段重点阐述“学业压力导致孩子宅家”,第四段“Even if this isn't a problem”承接上文话题,因此“this”指代前文的“academic pressure(学业压力)”,故选A。

Going camping is the best fun in the world if we know how to do it. Every healthy boy and girl, if
possible, should enjoy living outdoors for a week or two every year.
A group of four members makes a good number for a camping trip. They will probably agree better
than two or three. They can do much of the camp work in pairs. No one needs to be left alone to look after
the camp while the others go fishing or hunting or to some nearby towns for food and drinks.
It is always better to go camping with someone who has "camped out" before. If he cannot be found,
then make your plans, decide what you will do and how you will do it, and take a few cooking lessons
from your mother or someone else.
First, choose a leader. Because if someone goes ahead and gives directions, the life in the
camp will run much more easily and everyone will have a better time.
If it is your first experience in camping, you had better go somewhere near home. The best place is
the one that can be arrived at by car. So you can carry much less on your back and it's much safer.
After you have had some experience near home, you can safely try the other way. Where you go is
not very important. Near every large city there are some lakes or rivers where you can find a good
camping site. Campers always have more fun if they are near some water, but if such a place is not easily
found where you live, go into the forest. Try to get away from towns or villages. The wilder the place is,
the better.
1. What does the writer think is the best fun in the world?
Going camping (is).

2. How many members make a good number for a camping trip?
Four (members do).

3. Who can you learn cooking from before you go camping?
(From) our mother or someone else.

4. What does a leader usually do for the easier life in the camp?
He/She goes ahead and gives directions.

5. Where should you go after you have had some experience near home?
(We should go) to lakes, rivers, or forests.

答案

1. Going camping (is). 2. Four (members do).
3. (From) our mother or someone else. 4. He/She goes ahead and gives directions.
5. (We should go) to lakes, rivers, or forests.
