Shi Guangyin—The Desert Fighter
Shi Guangyin is a farmer from Shaanxi Province. He grew up near the Mu Us Desert. There, sandstorms(沙尘暴) often destroyed crops and houses. Life was hard.
When Shi was a child, he saw how sandstorms could hurt people. This made him decide to fight against the desert and protect his home.
Fighting the desert is not easy. In 1968, Shi began to lead people to plant trees. After years of hard work, he found ways to make trees survive in the sand. He faced many difficulties but never gave up. Later, he used new ways to change the desert and make it green again.
As Shi got older, his son continued the work. Later, his grandson took over. Together, they turned large areas of desert into green land.
Shi says he will never stop planting trees. His story shows us how people can live in harmony with nature. It teaches us that by working with nature and protecting it, we can make our environment better for everyone.
