On April 18th each year, people all over the world celebrate the International Day for Monuments and Sites(国际古迹遗址日). In China, people are realizing the importance of their history and culture. Many are doing their best to protect Chinese cultural sites and try to promote(推广) them.
Xu Danyang, a 30-year-old archaeologist found an amazing bronze statue (青铜像) at the Sanxingdui site in Sichuan. In 2020, he dug out this
statue. In the beginning, his team thought it was a bird. But as they continued the digging, they had a surprise. It turned out to be a statue of a man. It showed a man kneeling with his head turned, and it surprised everyone who saw it.
Zhang Bin is a tour guide at the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum in Xi'an, Shaanxi. He works to share all of his knowledge about the famous Terracotta Warriors with visitors. Zhang often uses the traditional Chinese performance art of xiangsheng to explain them. He is doing something meaningful for the site.
The famous Chinese archaeologist Fan Jinshi was called the "daughter of Dunhuang". In the late 1980s, Fan came across computer technology by chance, she realized that this might preserve(保存) the Mogao Caves forever. After over 30 years of exploration, she and her team built a digital database (数据库) to make Dunhuang's art live forever and step out of the caves to meet the world.
